Smitha S Hemashettar and Kirti A Kesarkar of Lumiere – the Light Studio took form while trying to harness imagination – It was one usual vacation from school, two excited preschoolers & their mothers with an idea to engage the little ones creatively. In planting a seed that would let our kids dabble in some art and craft, little did we know we would find an inspired vocation for ourselves. While experimenting alongside the kids they found out what amazing effect simple paper and paints can produce, a wondrous palette comprising magical lights.
At Lumiere – the Light studio Exclusive handmade paper lampshades for indoors are designed. One can select from existing designs or can give an order as per customized requirement. The prices begin at Rs 150 for the candle shades(4”/4” cylinder) and Rs 700 onwards for the lampshades which are available in two sizes, 6”/10” cylinder and Rs 500 onwards for the 4”/ 9” cylinder- pendant (hanging) or table stand, including a wire and a holder set.
They are one of Navodyami winners and have undertaken Navodyami training, Navodyami is designed to help micro-entrepreneurs in 5 districts of Karnataka to expand their businesses. The program offers mentorship, assitance and support for small entrepreneurs who have great quality products but may not have the necessary means to make their business thrive. With Deshpance Foundation’s help, more than 2000 micro-entrepreneurs benefited from the program since 2011.
