AAB had raised this issue last year as well and this year too there is no change in the situation. The private bus operators like VRL are just robbing the common man during the festive season by charging a hefty price for the tickets.

VRL:

normal rate for 2+2 seating is Rs. 330 the same for festive season (Ramzan-Ganesh) is Rs.530. Same is the case with Volvo normal is Rs.500, festive rate is a whopping Rs.1200.

AAB did call up Pai travels and PVG and they said they haven’t raised any prices in the tickets.

Isn’t there are control on these people. Are these operators any less than robbers.

We should oppose this unruly price hike made by these bus operators who are nothing but LOOTING the common man.

When there are holidays in line like Saturday Sunday Monday; be sure the price has been hiked.

We should all do something against this, it’s our necessity and these bus operators are exploiting the same.

If any of the private bus operators are reading this story I request you comment on this and explain to the public and ratify your price hike.

Why is that the govt. does not do anything on this?

This happens each year, people want to go home for the festive season which does not mean that operators like VRL can double their ticket price.

In Maharashtra, the Swabhiman Sangthna run by Rane’s gave a stiff warning to travel operators in the state going to Konkan, that if they find that they have raised the ticket rates for this particular 2-3 days , they will have to face the consequences.

In India, no one hears when you speak calmly, they need some sounds and breaking.

Jago Grahak Jago !

It has been over a week now that inter state bus service between Karnataka Maharashtra has been halted. So far the MSRTC has lost over Rs. 2 crores due to non operations. A similar amount has been lost by the KSRTC in the last 7 days due to non operation.

The deficit making MSRTC in a statement today said that if this situation prevails for more then they will face a huge loss which will be irrecoverable.

The KSRTC is no different with losses due to non operations, it wants the service to resume as early as possible.

As the buses are off the road the Railway is seeing a huge rush for traffic towards Miraj. The Ekadashi is on Wednesday where people travel to Pandharpur from here, they are facing a very hard time.

Still it is very unclear when operations would commence but sources told the blog that as things have now come under control we could see these buses on the road tomorrow in phases.

Commuters are facing hardships and now if one has to travel to Kolhapur, one needs to go to Nippani and then take a tempo to Kagal and then reach Kolhapur.

People fight – people suffer.

On May 15 the newly built Mysore airport is said to be inaugurated by the Union minister of state for civil aviation Praful Patel. But as an irony no airline is ready to fly from there. All major private airlines, including national carrier Air India, have declined invitations to fly to the newly-built airport in Mysore. Poor passenger load factor is the reason for the reluctance to operate flights to Karnataka’s second-largest city.

Newly built Mysore Airport

CM BSY recently wrote to the Secretary of civil aviation to look into the possibilities of resuming air traffic from Belgaum and Bidar.

The Karnataka government plans to develop airports in each district of the state and has sought private participation to develop this infrastructure.

New Terminal building at Sambra unutilised

We Belgaumites will have keep dreaming of flying from here as major operators are unwilling to fly from Mysore then who will come to fly from Belgaum. The load factor is a major reason for not commencing operations. The Belgaum airport was recently renovated at a cost of Rs.3.57crores which now boasts of a fully AC terminal building. Mr. Praful Patel had said that by January 2010 air services would resume from Belgaum. But nothing has materialized.
