About the Trek: One of the best and all time favorite treks in this region of Kankumbi forests. In the beginning of the trek we cross the Kalsa Stream, reach the head of the Kalsa Waterfall & after a couple steep descends & ascends reach the base of the waterfall. We need to cross the river again which is now swollen more.

Hopping through the boulders in the river & thus negotiating our way, we reach the head of the 350 feet Sural Waterfall. Here onwards it is a steep ascend before reaching the village Sural in Goa. To & fro Motorable distance is about 120 kms.

About the Trek: Most of the trek is through dense jungles. There is an idol of Mother Mary installed in a huge stone or boulder amidst the dense forest, no one really knows the history behind this.

Between Mahabaleshwar in the North & Kudremukha in the South this place is highest point in the Western Ghats at 3300 ft above sea level. And after all this, its time to have a great shower under the 50+ feet Bhatwada Waterfall.

One can have the marvelous experience of Rappelling down through the water of this waterfall. Total Trekking distance can be 6 to 12 kms depending on the requirements. To & fro Motor-able distance is about 70 kms.

Infinity Adventures in Belgaum has been organizing trekking for many years. They have a team of trekkers who keep on finding newer places which are the hidden treasures in the western ghats.

The team recently discovered Shimbola Water falls, a 200 feet water falls in the heart of the western ghats near Chorla.

The deep valley, the huge water falls, the dense jungle are sure to scare you but the brave only can see this beautiful water falls.

The falls is fed by the Shimboli stream and the waterfalls has a roaring sound reflects all masculine hence the team Christianized it as “Shimbola”.

Terrain: It’s a gradual & later steep descend to the waterfall. Way back it’s a ascend.

Here is one shared by Mr.Vijay Dani, the Sundi Water falls near Mahipalgad.

The water falls has some crystal clear water falling from about 50 feet and the sight is awesome. The water depth near the falls is not much hence one can play in the water as well.

Even trekking can be done and this falls could be covered as a day trip along with Vaijnath & Mahipalgad.

As these places are not developed one needs to carry along all the food and potable water.

How to Reach:

From Hindalga Ganapati—-> Sulga—> Shinoli —> Take right Turn to Devaravadi—-> Sri Kshetra Vaijanath——> Mahipalgadh ——-> Sundi Village

Stop your vehicles near the make shift Tea shop and take a Right turn into the fields.

Walk for less than a km through the fields.

Go down the hill on a some what difficult terrain with stones (water bed) to see Sundi Falls.

The estimated cost of the entire development along with musical fountain, landscaping (6000 sq.mts), food court and utilities will be Rs.25 Crores. Yeddyurappa said Rs 25 crore will be earmarked for the theme park and glass house at Vaccine Depot in Belgaum, to commemorate the second World Kannada Meet (WKM). The said Floating cafeteria has an area of 720 sq feet and has LCD TV with a DTH connection. The Floating cafeteria has been built at a cost of about Rs.9 lakhs and is made of polyurethane.

The deceased identified as Vishwantah Konnur of Ramdurg aged 21 was bathing when a few stones tumbled on him and he was injured along with a few others.

He was admitted to the local hospital where he was advised to to be taken to Belgaum civil hospital.

The place is accessible by road till the end from where one has to climb about 50 steps to go to the top. The place is quite pleasent and beautification works are going on like a garden, a small area with slides etc.

Go to Auto Nagar – Tata power Plant

Take a right next to Tata power plant and go straight

Then later go through a smal street and then take a Left and reach the Karnataka housing board layout.

Go straight you will find a board follow it
