24×7 water supply project hits a roadblock again

The Malaysian company which had bagged the tender for the implementation of the World Bank assisted 24×7 water supply project in Belagavi has hit a road block after the company has backed out protesting the delay in issuing the work order to it.

Karnataka Urban Infrastructure Development and Finance Corporation (KUIDFC) the nodal agency which is over looking the project will have to start a fresh with issuance of a fresh tender.

The Rs.680 crore project out of which Rs.480 crore will be given by World bank is in almost jeopardy now.

The Malaysian company which had won the contract had to back out as it never got a work order even after 3 months.

The 24×7 project was implemented in 10 wards on a pilot basis around nine years ago and the government announced extending the project in all the 58 wards.
