Angadi Institute of Technology and Management Belagavi has become the first Engineering college in the country to have a rooftop solar power plant. SAEF’s – Angadi Institute of Technology and Management has installed 300kW solar roof-top power plant project located at AITM College building at Savagoan, Belagavi, Karnataka.
The project commissioned & executed by the BOSCH Energy and Building Solutions (BEBS). Bosch Energy and Building Solutions is an integral part of the Bosch group. In India, the division is involved in executing solar PV for energy generation and energy efficiency projects. Bosch is an empaneled agency under Ministry of New and Renewable Energy and Solar Energy Corporation of India. BEBS team in India is estimated to generate approximately 1,500 units of electricity daily and also saving about 450 tons of carbon dioxide emissions annually.
The project has 1224 solar panels of crystalline silicon technology with 9 string inverters. The developer has signed a net-metering PPA with HESCOM (Hubli Electricity Supply Company) under which the project will export any unconsumed electricity generated by the solar power plant to the grid under the Karnataka net-metering policy. The project is touted to be one of the first of its kind and scale roof-top solar project in North Karnataka.This project would not have been possible without the pioneering vision of Mr. Suresh Angadi, MP, Chairman, Suresh Angadi Education Foundation Belagavi.
Also noteworthy is the excellent and timely support provided HESCOM towards the successful commissioning of this project.
