The 81 kms stretch from Karnataka Goa border to Belgaum road NH 4A will be widened by IRB INFRASTRUCTURE DEVELOPERS LIMITED.

It is an Rs.800 crores project, out of which Rs.186 crores have been sanctioned right away to get the project into momentum.

The NHAI is taking up four laning and six laning of various roads in the country and this is also part of the same.

Once the new road is done it will bring Goa very close to Belgaum and the business with Goa will grow even more. The time for completion could be anywhere from 1 to 3 years, however officially nothing has been communicated.

The present NH4A with Greenary will not be seen after its widened

  1. Actually wihich road will be widened, the one which connects to Goa through Londa-ramnagar or the one which connects through Jamboti- Sural?

because i have seen some work going on in Jamboti-Sural road, and the photos shown here are of the Road to Goa through Londa-Ramnagar (NH4a)

  2. It is good news though , but there is a way for maintaining the same greenary , the highway four laning shoud be done with parallel road next to exsisting one without cutting the trees on either sides, let the trees be like divider for the road with embakment on edges, I wish the forest department tkaes further step with Road authorities

  3. Actually if u remember Uday you had posted long back that the work has been canceled due to some case that has been filed in the High court saying that the forest area will be lost and so the work must be immediately stopped. Then how come they again started off the work.

Any way that’s a good news to us !
