Private bus operators continue to loot

AAB had raised this issue last year as well and this year too there is no change in the situation. The private bus operators like VRL are just robbing the common man during the festive season by charging a hefty price for the tickets.

Bella Vista Belagavi

VRL:

normal rate for 2+2 seating is Rs. 330 the same for festive season (Ramzan-Ganesh) is Rs.530. Same is the case with Volvo normal is Rs.500, festive rate is a whopping Rs.1200.

AAB did call up Pai travels and PVG and they said they haven’t raised any prices in the tickets.

Isn’t there are control on these people. Are these operators any less than robbers.

We should oppose this unruly price hike made by these bus operators who are nothing but LOOTING the common man.

When there are holidays in line like Saturday Sunday Monday; be sure the price has been hiked.

We should all do something against this, it’s our necessity and these bus operators are exploiting the same.

If any of the private bus operators are reading this story I request you comment on this and explain to the public and ratify your price hike.

Why is that the govt. does not do anything on this?

This happens each year, people want to go home for the festive season which does not mean that operators like VRL can double their ticket price.

In Maharashtra, the Swabhiman Sangthna run by Rane’s gave a stiff warning to travel operators in the state going to Konkan, that if they find that they have raised the ticket rates for this particular 2-3 days , they will have to face the consequences.

In India, no one hears when you speak calmly, they need some sounds and breaking.

  1. You can go to NWKRTC stand and get ample of buses to any place… and they are shouting their stomachs to get passengers. So many buses just plying empty. We pay tax to the government, they ply so many vehicles and we are happy that we travel in pvt buses.
Another advantage of going on govt.bus is that in case any accident or breakdown happens other vehicles accomodate you. If accident happens and a person dies government will give atleast give Rs1lac to family members.
Why bother about one or two operators?

  2. Cant really say a profound statement like 'dont travel by xyz travel etc, lets teach them a lesson'. Unfortunately 'garaj ko akkal nahi'. Its the demand and supply business. If more honest people like Pai and PVG or other such ones start more buses on these routes, then I think the nose of greedy VRLs, et el, can be squeezed.

  3. There will be enough buses available….but when we go to book the ticket, the service providers say that the bus is full, all tickets are sold out….then later they say we are providing extra buses and charge double the normal rates……

  4. Its not only VRL, even Barde has hiked the prices to Pune and people have to pay more for the buses like VRL and Barde to travel with Bed Bugs. They should clean their bus first and then think of increasing the prices.

  5. abhi picture baaki hai dosto…
Ganesh Chartuti aur EID ko hi ye haal hai …
In Diwali i think the price may be 2000rs….

  6. I have already posted blog in http://www.voiceofbelgaum.com. VRL is looting like anything. there are 19 schedules(9th September) to belgaum from bangalore and all are full. In the name of extra buses they are looting common man.

I would rather blame the people for supporting them. What is the need for them to pay 1300Rs for one way journey. If every1 stops travelling in VRL, why they will increase the price. I am doing it from last two years though I am frequent traveller to belgaum. If i wont get any reservation in PVG, Pai,SRS I travel by KSRTC buses.

Thanks Uday for posting this article. Hope every1 wakes up after reading this…

  7. And one more thing..The owner of VRL being an politician is well supported by our own government. Also this is the main reason that Belgaum, Bagalkot and Bijapur have limted trains to Bangalore…. VRL is behind all this. He is openily looting people…. Our poor people dont understand all this and travel.

  9. intention of this article is really commendable, but,,,,,,,,,,,

is the VRL only transport company in BGM? why there is no mention of other companies ?

  10. There are sufficient buses by NWKSRTC from Bangalore to Belgaum-Hubli-Dharwar. The buses are no bad, Rajhamsa, Airawat, Corona etc are all good. Pvt operators like Pai, PVG, Southern and few others are pretty good. VRL thinks they have the monoploy. And I believe now-a-days VRL is same as KSRTC buses. (KSRTC buses are much cleaner).

Well, there is nothing much we can do, other than just avoiding these opportunist operators & opt for the others.

  11. Because of these idiot travel agencies our Belgaum – Dharwad railway line is not done yet. These people like VRL, buying-off some railway ministers, politicians for their own business……This is really shame on such a big name in society…..ask them to run business honestly….let them take it as challenge…..

  12. boss chance pe dance kar rahe hai ye log,and in a way they r right cause in off season they run their buses empty..

    • Are they in the busness to charge as they wish from the people ( some timeour autos are far better ).
All people traveling in pvt buses are not high salary earners. Even students are coming to home for celebration during the festival.
If they are right (on what basis,), are they reducing their fare when they are plying their buses FULL Even in empty buses they are full with their courier parcels.
