Julie 2 is an upcoming Hindi film written, directed and produced by Deepak Shivdasani and features Raai Laxmi from Belagavi in the lead role which marks her debut in Hindi cinema. This is the sequel to Shivdasani’s earlier film Julie (2004).
Shooting commenced in September 2015 and lasted for six and a half months. The film is scheduled for a worldwide release on 12 August 2016.
The movie is about the journey of a simple innocent girl who goes on to become a top actress.
Laxmi had to lose 10-11 kilos in the beginning and soon after, she had to gain more than what she lost as per the needs of the script and also to sport a bikini.
Lakshmi Rai was born in Bangalore and was brought up at Belagavi, Her dad is into business and her mother is a homemaker. She is the youngest of the three daughters to her parents. She did her studies at Belagavi and was indulged in either modeling, dancing right from her high school days. Laxmi Rai/Raibagi tried hard and got the ‘Miss Belgaum’ title for 2 years from 2002 to 2004.
