The Congress Election Committee (CEC), headed by AICC president Sonia Gandhi has nominated Laxmi Hebbalkar for the upcoming Loksabha elections. Hebbalkar would contest from Belgaum Loksabha Constituency. Hebbalkar is MA political Science from Mysore University aged 38, she had lost the 2013 assembly election from Belgaum Rural. She had got 35811 votes and stood 3rd.
