According to the Commissioner of police, two people were apprehended near the Regional commissioners office in the DC compound and Rs.11.13 Lakhs almost all in the new Rs.2000 currency was found with them.
The City Crime Investigation branch who also recovered mobiles have taken Manjunath Misale and Vishwanath Shet into custody.
Rs 8.5 lakhs was in denomination of new Rs 2,000 notes, Rs 1.5 lakh in Rs 100 currency notes and remaining Rs 50,000 in demonetised Rs 500 notes, the press note added.
During interrogation the duo said they were into Gold business and were there to hand over the cash to a third party but they could ratify their statements along with any documents.
I guess nothing is going to stop this black money menace. A real shame.
