In the massive drive launched by Belagavi City Corporation against the sale of plastic products and supplies about 500 kg of plastic was seized from 210 shops and a fine of Rs.49,0000 was collected.
Different teams were made and they visited stores and seized plastic carry bags from Ramdev Galli, Khade Bazar, Tilakwadi, Shahpur and Ganpat galli.
The recent Government notification bans the use of any kind of plastic of any gauge except for milk and Export.
Even flex banners are banned but the same have not yet been removed by the corporation.
