Arya Rajendra Bhandankar honored with Junior NCC gold medal

This is the moment of joy, accomplishment & inspiration for all the youngsters of Belgaum opined Sister, Thankam Michel, Principal of St. Josephs High School Belgaum. She was speaking to members of the media on the account of young prodigy Miss Arya Rajendra Bhandankar, IXth standard student on receiving the most coveted Junior NCC gold medal by Dr. Manamohan Singh, Hon’ble Priarya belgaumme Minister of India. The trophy and gold medal was given to young NCC cadet in a function held at Garisson NCC Parade ground, New Delhi on 28th Jan, 2014. Principal of the school further said Miss Arya ia multi faceted personality, she stood 1st in her academics from 1st standard to 8th Standard. Miss Arya is a rare young talent, she performs Bhartnatyam & she has excelled in extracurricular activities of the school.

Associated NCC Officer Capt. Easther Paul speaking to the media said that, 17 Directorates form the core of NCC, close to 1 crore young cadets are part of this Directorate. The young cadets will have to pass through tough tasks to reach to State level and to the National level. Miss Arya was tested on 10 defined areas such as Drills, Height, cultural events, speach, performing tasks, general knowledge, written test, Personal interview, word of command and group discussion. She out performed others and stood 1st and bagged the gold medal and trophy said jubilant Capt. Paul.

She also recalled that since 1998 the St. Joseph school has rare distinction of bagging 10 gold medals, 8 silver medals and 5 bronze medals. She also said in October-2013 NCC Cadet Carlion Saldhana got silver medal in shooting competition. Miss Arya said, getting medal from Prime Minister of India is the most cherished moment of her life. She said want to be scientist.
