The State government announced the list of 56 Rajyotsava award winners for the year 2013 late on Wednesday evening.
Under the Literature category Prof. Chandrakant Kusnoor has been awarded the award who was born in Gulburga but is residing in Belgaum since 38 years.
He is a multi faceted personality who writes, paints as well. He is a M.A. Hindi Literature B.Ed Osmania University Hyderabad (A.P.) He has served as Assistant Director, Dept of Kannada and culture.
He has written over Plays(60 Books), 6 Novels, 3 short story collections, 3 art appreciation, 1 collection of poems, 2 translations.
Prof.Kusnoor has won awards 3 for books (from Karnataka Sahitya Academy Bangalore). He has plays & Novel from Lalit Kala Academy Bangalore (Book on Art Appreciationm, 1990Karnataka Natak Academy “Gourava Prashasti”, 1991 KarnatakaSahitya Academy “Gourava Prashasti”.
His paintings exhibition have been held in Bangalore, Mysore, Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkatta.
