In order to provide better services to the customers under various Post Office Savings Bank / Savings Certificates Schemes, the Core Banking Solutions operations commenced today [02.06.2014] at Belgaum Head Post Office.
Under the ambitious IT Modernization Project 2012 of India Post different sub projects are being implemented throughout the country. As on date, India Post has migrated to the Core Banking Solutions to 439 offices with balances of Rupees 52939 Crores in various pilot circles.
The implementation of this service will enable customers to provide their Know Your Customer records only once at any of the Post Offices in the entire country. This will be followed up to all the Post Offices even in the rural areas thus helping rural financial inclusion as well. The ATM / Debit Cards will be provided very soon.
This service is inaugurated by Sri M Nagesh, Senior Superintendent of Post Offices, Dharwad Division holding additional charge of Belgaum Division. Speaking on the occasion, he wished that the general public will take the most benefit of the services provided with this new beginning as the software caters to all schemes under the savings bank and savings certificates provided by the Post Offices. He urged the existing account holders to visit the Belgaum Head Post Office to get their new account numbers.
