The Belgaum districts parents association today gave a memorandum written to the Hon. President of India asking his intervention into matter of Good Shepherd Central School, Ganeshpur Belgaum, which the association alleges does not have a CBSE affiliation at all.

The Dr. Babasaheb R. Ambedkar Education Society’s Good Shepherd Central School is being allegedly run without permission from the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE)? Kudachi MLA Shyam Ghatge is head of this society.

The memorandum says that, for the past 4 years the students, parents and the CBSE/NCERT boards are being cheated by the school authorities saying it is affiliated to CBSE, whereas investigations done by the DDPI’s report, the school management obtained permission from the State government to run classes up to 6th standard by adopting the CBSE syllabus, but did not take permission from the CBSE.

The memorandum also makes a mention of donations being made and also that uniforms were sold in the school itself without a registered TIN etc.

The matter came to light when students were not allowed to attend classes as their parents had complained about the same and also gathered other parents against the fee hike done in school. Then allegedly acting under pressure from the chairman, transfer certificates were issued for Mr. Shingte’s children who were studying in classes 2 and 6. The certificate neither mentioned the affiliation number nor the agency recognizing the school.
