Green Saviours-16 drives-1300 trees nurtured

The Green Saviours team as part of The Venugreen Project conducted their plantation drive for the 16th successive Sunday since they commenced their work in April 2016. Nearly 100 volunteers along with students and faculty participated in the activity which was held at the Nagzari School campus in Tilakwadi which houses both a Kannada Medium and a Marathi Medium Government School.

green-saviourThe team also participated in a rally through the streets of Tilakwadi and raised slogans inviting people to participate in the effort to restore the greenery in and around the city of Belagavi.

Green Saviours wishes to thank Mr Satish Patil from the school management and all the staff and students from both the Kannada and Marathi Medium schools who participated. The officials of the Police Station at Tilakwadi also deserve a special thanks for the wonderful support including an escort vehicle which was provided during the rally. They also extend their gratitude to the officials of the Department of Forestry who have been providing saplings for the activity that has resulted in the plantation and more importantly the survival of over 1300 trees in and around Belagavi.
