Hookah centre raided near Govaves

The Tilakwadi Police raided a restaurant BLOO near petrol pump on Khanapur Road on Saturday night at 9 PM and fined 25 youths including 3 women under the the Cigarettes and Other Tobacco Products (Prohibition of Advertisement and Regulation of Trade and Commerce, Production, Supply and Distribution) Act, 2003, and the rules framed there under.
hookah belagaviThe restaurant running there allegedly had this illegal hookah bar. An eating house, which is called a restaurant, is a public place and smoking of tobacco in any form, including cigarettes, cigars, beedis or otherwise with the aid of a pipe, wrapper or any other instruments, is prohibited by under the Act.
When the police raided the place a few were using the hookah and a few were smoking cigarettes. All were fined Rs.200 as per the provisions of the act and let off. The owner was been questioned.

  1. A photo of ppl and owner in media would hav embarrassed the offenders, parents would have seen hardwork of their children .. A fine of Rs 200/- is not enough…

  2. These types of Habits, friends n company I think ll lead to suicide…. Better avoid these….
    Some ppl will shamelessly continue even though embarrassed…
