On Late Tuesday Belgaum chambers of commerce president Basavraj Javali filed a complaint with the Market police station about he was manhandled and attacked and abused by MLA Abhay Patil.

Even tough the complaint has been accepted an FIR has not yet been lodged and sources said Police were waiting for a nod from the higher officials if they required any permission from the speaker for the lodging of the FIR.

Mr.Javali has also written to the Chief minister about the same and also raised the issue at the meeting of the Karnataka Chamber in Mysore.

O the other hand MLA Abhay Patil questioned the delay in registering a police complaint. “Why didn’t Javali lodge complaint on the same day of the incident?” he asked. After 15 days he might allege something else as well.

A FIR with No.133/2012 has been filed at Market Police station under IPC 143,147, 341, 342, 504, 506 R/W 149 IPC.
