The railway over bridge at Kapileshwar could be opened for public from December 25, 2016 as per sources.
It is likely that Minister of Railways Suresh Prabhu could inaugurate this over bridge on December 25 which is also the birthday of Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
This is the very first railway over bridge in Belagavi built after India’s independence.
In October 2012, he railway authorities had given a go ahead for the over bridges at old Dharwad road and Kapileshwar.
The actual work was commenced in June 2015.
The ROB is of span of 500 Mtrs length and width would be 25 feet and the clear height clearance would be 6.5 Mtrs.

I am glad to note that Kapileshwar flyover is likely to be inaugurated on 25th December. The bridge will smoothen the heavy traffic.
Not sure how this 25 feet wide bridge could handle 2 way traffic, specially when the heavy vehicles will be allowed.
But it won’t last long like the British built flyover from railway station signal to Goaves road.
what about railway station over bridge? So pathetic condition. I hope once Kapileshwar bridge inaugurated railway authority will take wrk on Dharwad railway gate over bridge.
