The Chief Minister Shettar, who also holds the Finance portfolio, presented 2013-14 budget on February 8, and it was his maiden budget. For the ruling BJP, it is the last budget of its present regime.
Some important things related to Belgaum are as follows:

Liquor goes up Rs.40 per slab. It is proposed to revise the 17 slabs of declared prices relating to Indian Made Liquor by increasing each of them by Rs. 40.
Double the license fee collected for transfer of retail liquor licence (CL-2) and bar and restaurant licence (CL-9) from one person to another
