The KLE society will start its new Cancer hospital by the end of 2012. This would be a 160 bed hospital out of which 50 beds will be reserved as free for poor patients. The estimated cost of the new hospital is Rs.51 crores.
The foundation stone will be laid by union minister of agriculture Sharad Pawar on 12 feb. the said hospital is being built in the KLE Campus itself near to Bauxite road.
Cancer is a growing disease and as about 8-10 patients come in daily the need for a exclusive Cancer hospital was felt, said Chairman of KLE Dr.Prabhakr Kore.
