Villagers of Sonoli, Rakaskop about 16 kms from Belagavi were taken by a surprise after they found a live mortar shell in an open field.
The said bomb was disposed off by the CRPF men this afternoon. The police has called in for the bomb squad but they would have reached here only by tomorrow morning. The CRPF men from Belagavi diffused the mortar.
It is still unclear how this live bomb reached the spot. The authorities said that the mortar bombs dont explode like normal bombs untill and unless launched from their respective machines.
