After the excise duty increase in the union budget yesterday the new increased prices of petrol in the city are as follows:
Petrol: Rs.53.52 earlier it was Rs.50.56 (increase of Rs.2.96)
Diesel: Rs 40.00

I remember in Feb 89 the pertol at Belgaum cost Rs 9.73. after 21 years 53.00 looks a 5 and a half time increase. But this just 8.40% increase per year(negative power of compunding).
