In a surprise for the citizens in the BUDA meeting held yesterday in the presence of MLA’s a decision was taken to restart the PRE PAID auto booths at Railway station and also one at CBT.
As the enforcement comes under the purview of the RTO it was decided to inform the RTO about the same and take speedy action on the same.
But some questions remain unanswered which eventually will make this just another statement on paper.
But will this be effective at all?
With no fare revision will Auto drivers accept this?
RTO has never been serious about this implementation, so how can one believe them now?
The pre paid auto booth at the railway station was started in December 2007. How many of you used it?
This will never happen even the auto meters were not implemented after so much of seriousness. One auto fellow told me when the meter down karo was going on seriously, this cannot happen and will never happen in Belgaum

This will never happen , Many complaints to DC ..but no response. We need some GOOD officers at RTO / DC to do this. The MOST unfortunate thing to happen for Belgaum is the weakest administration seen so far. NO traffic rules followed, ( u can park any side anywhere in the city , garages can be opened on Highway near Honaga/Kakati exactly opposite to Police station too, u can sell standing right in the middle of roads on khade bazar road.,etc ) …Having METERS of Auto would be a ” DREAM COME TRUE “.
