The prepaid auto booth at CBT (Central Bus Stand) was inaugurated today and DC N Jayram, SP Ravikante Gowda and Commissioner of Police S Ravi took the first ride.
This is a welcome step and we urge that one police constable to deployed there all the time at the booth which will help the commuters.
A board which displays the fare is also put up near the prepaid booth.
Minimum fare is Rs.20 for 2 kms and Rs.10 per km later

Such services to be consistent, we should use the pre-paid counter. One reason why such public welfare facilities fail is “poor response”.
Also a request to the City Administration to provide adequate shelter for these booths considering the hot & rainy days.
This is a very good initiative. Hope the citizens take benefit of this. Also hope the authorities will consistently provide support and administer the proper functioning at all times & during all seasons.
Please advertise about this Prepaid Booth in all local news paper on every week bases so that people traveling to belgaum city from local villages know about it and take support of booth.
How about one at Railway Station ?
Post-Paid Rickshaw stand should be atleast 500Mtrs away from Pre-Paid Auto Stand.
Excellent initiative. Kindly advise the timings when the booth shall be open and the fares. It is a good idea that some police personnel is at attendance. More over, complaint no. should be displayed for any eventualities. Lastly, the facility needs to be advertised for the public of Belgaum to make use of.
