belgaum-mayorThe Hindu in a report in which Newly elected Mayor of Belgaum City Corporation Mahesh K. Naik has indicated early commencement of works on construction of railway over bridges on Kapileshwar temple road and old Pune-Bangalore road in the city.

The report further says- he and MLA Sambhaji Patil had recently met Minister for Infrastructure Development, Information and Haj Roshan Baig at Bangalore and urged him to take up the construction of two bridges at the earliest. The minister, who had inspected the problems during his visit to the city in January, assured to do his best to take up the works as soon as possible.

Though there was a long-due demand for the construction of a railway over bridge across the first railway gate, the traffic congestion was very often on Kapileshwar temple and old P.B. Roads.
