Rayat sangh and others call for Belgaum bandh on Nov 25

Karnataka Rajya Rayat Sangha and others in favor of Kalsa Banduri project have called for a Belgaum Bandh on November 25 to coincide with the first day of the winter session here at Suvarna Vidhan Soudha.

The bandh aims to draw the attention of the Centre to announce an interim award on the sharing of Mahadayi river waters between Karnataka, Goa and Maharashtra; and clearance for the construction of a dam under the Kalasa-Banduri Nala diversion project.

Former parliamentarian S.B. Sidnal, former Ministers Malharigouda Patil and Shashikant A. Naik, Kalasa-Banduri Nala Horata Samiti president Vijay Kulkarni, Karnataka Rajya Raitha Sangha president Kodihalli Chandrashekhar, KRRS district president Basavaraj Mallali, district secretary of Bharatiya Krishik Samaj, KRRS leaders Kalyanrao Muchalambi and T.T. Murkatnal were present.
