Security enhanced in Belgaum for presidents visit

The President Pranab Mukherjee will be in Belgaum on October 11 to inaugurate the Suvarna Vidhana Soudha, participate in a programme organised by the Ramakrishna Mission Ashram at Risaldar Galli, and confer the Jnanpith Award upon writer Chandrashekar Kambar at Mahatma Gandhi Bhavan in the evening.

SP Sandeep Patil said four SPs, 14 DySPs, 50 CPIs, 250 ASIs and 2,000 constables and sub-constables will be deployed for controlling crowds and managing traffic. 30 door frame metal detectors and hand-held metal detectors will be installed at the four programme venues to be attended by the President on the day.

No mobiles phone would be allowed at the venue of the inaugural function at SVS.

Entry for the President, VIPs and invitees, Ministers and press persons will be from the main gate of the Suvarna Vidhana Soudha. Entry for the public will be from the south gate.

For the function of Ram Krishna Mission Ashrma at Risaldar Galli, only 150 invitees will be allowed and for the function at Gandhi Bhavan 1200 people with passes only would be allowed.

There would be some major traffic diversions on October 11 as the President’s convoy would be coming in the heart of the city at Risaldar Galli and then to Gandhi Bhavan.

    The M E S n its Chela’s opposed the honouring function to the great Dnyaanapeetha avardee shri Kambar ji,,,, that too in his home town n home district… hense they got screwed,,, the BCC disposed twice,,,

    and today the same person Mr Kambaraji is been honoured for his great achievements in Belgaum (His Home town) by the President of INDIA,,,, That would be really a proud moment,,,,

    and thats power of KARNATAKA n KANNADA people ,,,
    Now some one may comment here,,, but its our VICTORY ….. 🙂

    • Absolutely right.The(MES) people do not have any other job,than apposing Kannada people,kannada culture,Kannada events, just for political reasons and creating differences among the people of belgaum.
      Its a great moment for all Kannadiga’s ,to witness all the above mentioned events.Congradulations and all the best for the events.:)

    • we saw other day the strength of Kannada activist in recent Karnatak Bandh in Belgaum, Some 10-15 people carrying out the so-called-protest march at PROTEST CIRCLE (Sorry I mean to say Chennamma Circle) & most importantly with Police protection. I think this time the pro-Kannada organization didn’t export protestor from other city/town down from karnataka to shown their Strength in Belgaum. Even for this Suvarna Soudha opening you might need to call crowd from Kittur, Dharwad, Hubli, davangree etc.
