A calf was dragged away by a tiger on Friday night at Deogaon village (Khanpur)even as the operation to recapture the tiger that was released into the Bhimgad Wildlife Sanctuary continued for the third day with very little success.
Forest officials said it is not sure if it was ‘that’ tiger or a leopard who took the calf away. But this has irked the residents of the nearby villages. Talawade and Degaon are in proximity to the Bhimgad Wildlife Sanctuary.
Satyabhama Shankar Gavade(50) was killed by four bears at Betne village under Kankumbi forest range on Sunday.
