Trekker from Belagavi Amin Kittur passes away while on a trek near Gangotri

Avid and senior trekker Amin Kittur (31) passed away at 7 pm on 02-06-2016 at  Chirbasa (9kms short of Gangotri) due to high altitude sickness while trekking.

His friend and trekking colleague Cheran Shree posted a tribute to Amin saying “Who is going to plan our Himalayas trek, Who will motivate me during the trek, Who will be my tent mate, Who can throw roof top parties. Can’t believe you are no more big guy..miss you to the core..
RIP Amin Kittur ..The Mountain Man.”

Amin had studied in R.L. Science Institute and St. Mary’s High School, Belagavi. Currently he was working as Escalation Manager at Hewlett-Packard Bengaluru. He was awarded the Best NCC Cadet award at the hands of Atal Bihari Vajpayee, the then PM.

    My ex-roomie, friend, philosopher, co-traveler and so much more!
    Always joked he got the best cadet because I was his NCC sergeant!

  5. I attended the final rituals of Amin kittur.He’s the son of my close friend Shakil,manager at syndicate bank,belgaum. He’s completed his engineering in RV engineering college,one of the prestigious colleges in Bangalore.
    Very saddening. It was heart breaking to see his family members. May his soul rest in peace and may God give strength to all his dear ones to face it.

  6. Very shocking to lose my NCC commander…… Hard and shocking to know that D man How kept us motivated throughout out NCC days is no more…… RIP Amin
