Umesh Khade wins bronze at Open Sea Swimming Championship

Four swimmers of Belgaum Umesh Khade, Pratima Shinde, Saurabh Vernekar and Pranav Thakur participated at All India Open Sea Swimming Competition held on 17th November 2012 at Mumbai. The competition was organized by the Flag Officer Commanding in Chief, Western Naval Command, Mumbai on the occasion of Navy Day. Nearly 400 swimmers from all over the India took part in this competition.

Umesh Khade won the Bronze Medal in the Differently Able group. He is Deaf and Dumb swimmer and employee of Rotary Corporation Sports Academy. He is honored with Medal and Cash prize. Pratima Shinde took part in Open women group and stood 5th. Saurabh and Pranav also participated on open men group and successfully completed the 6 k.m. of swim. All the participants are awarded with the participation certificate.

 Swimmers are the members of Swimmers Club Belgaum and Aquarius Swim Club Belgaum and practicing at Rotary Corporation Sports Academy’s Swimming Pool, Goaves, Belgaum under the watchful guidance of Ajinkya Mendke, Akshay Sheregar and Prasad Tangankar.
