IT Park in Desur to host other small scale industries

Photo of author

itpark_desurThe IT (Information Technology) park built in Desur which never took off from its basic incubation stage thanks to many reasons will now also hold other small scale industries. Sources have also told AAB that plots have been alloted for the small scale industries. The IT park was Designed and conceptualized in 2008-09 by KSSIDC, the 41 Acres 19 guntas is nothing but a grazing ground for cattle.

The 42 acres land that has been used for this park has now all the basic amenities required like roads, water etc. The road leading to the park been also made. But no big companies have opened shop here. We hear that a few local companies have been alloted plots but no one had the courage to open its offices there due to various reasons.

In July 2013, the DC had ordered if other industries want to set shop they should be permitted. Sources have now confirmed that minister for industries would be visiting the IT(SSI) park in this week and for the same the entire park at Desur has been cleaned and work is going on to cut the grass and other allied cleaning works. After the visit and the official allotment is done other factories would start operations here and the only IT park dream from 2008 will die.

  1. Firstly the location was wrong and remote it would have made somewhere on the way to Airport, the basic Felicity were utterly shabby just for name sake ,the bureaucracy handling this project for land allotment was at utter ignorance and arrogance , it seems they were never interested to do any IT development activities for Belgaum

  2. I think we have to take initiative to start our offices at desur(BELGAUM IT). Unless and untill we all come together and start it, all have the word to say for us. I am grateful for being belgaumite. I am going to take that chance in near future and i will turn belgaum IT to the new way.
