Angadi raises voice about Ashoka Circle in Loksabha

Suresh Angadi member of parliament raised a matter under 377 regarding the handing over of the Ashoka Circle to PWD.

In the matter raised, the MP says, “ Belgaum city is the fastest developing city and is being groomed as a second capital. There is heavy traffic movement in the city. But at the city entrance there exists an old Octroi naka of Cantonment board measuring 36.54 sq.mtrs near Ashoka Circle which is in the heart of the city. This area was demanded to be transferred to the PWD in lieu of equal land transfer by the district administration. The proposal has been pending for several years for approval at Delhi.

Also the Defence authorities are also found engaged in constructing compound wall all over the city area, leading to complaints of land encroachment of Prviate/farmers tough their (Defence) area measures only 1302 acres near Mandoli village which often leads to unnecessary friction between civilians and military personnel. This compound wall constructed is also hampering the road widening works of PWD.

Hence I urge the government to initiate steps toi clear the pending proposal for handing over of Cantonment board land near Ashoka Circle to take up immediate road widening process and also direct the concerned local military authorities to stop compound wall construction activity.”

About Rule 377: The main advantage of allowing matters to be raised under Rule 377, Special Mentions and during Zero Hour is to bring to the notice of the House and the government, the matters and happenings of urgent public importance which take place in or outside the country and have a bearing on our national interests and about which members are agitated and for which members may not get an early opportunity to raise under any other rule of the House.

  2. we all know belgaum is grown by itself not by politicians or any government organaization with respect to revenues govt.gets,
raising this mere issue of circle is finding a needle in sea, so no need to thanks bro,
let him voice for other big issues at large, we are not interested in circles and cycle stands anymore….

  3. I think Belgaum to dharwad rail line is much more important then this circle issue.
Angadiji Please raise voice for needy and necessary issues.
I think MP is taking revenge against defense. Defense area is very next to his MBA college.

    • Anita ,you are absolutely correct BELGAUM DHARWAD DIRECT RAIL LINK and Introduction of a Superfast Train between HUBLI AND PUNE /PANVEL is very much essential ,people can get a direct link to MUMBAI CST by Local Train from Panvel.

  4. Nothing great in it, he could have raised voices on may other issues belgaum is facing, he himself is at wrong with his college at defence firing range, its just his anguish that he raised up this issue at parliament!
Instead the precious time he got at zero hour he could have asked.. please give/grant Belgaum some good industries, institutes, roads.. or could have said grant a bigger city development plan.. but no.. he went for defence land issues as his institution is entangled in it.
    A big disappointment! 🙁
