The roads in Camp area are the worst in the city and there was one time when commuters used to take the camp route to avoid heavy traffic on the Main Khanapur road. But since the past 2-3 years the road in Camp, especially after the new water pipes were laid the conditions of the roads in Camp was horrible. Now various Roads in Camp which come under the jurisdiction of the Cantonment will be re carpeted by the City Corporation and tenders for the same have been floated.
Some roads included are: Independence Road (St.Pauls high school- From NH4A to St.Pauls upto Gavli Galli and also St,Joesphs Road).
Meenaxi Hotel to Railway station: This road must have been a award winner in its category of existence of NO ROAD and still people calling it a road since 5 years now, which the railway had blocked for about 2 years and then the road condition was pathetic.
Havelock road, Police quarters, Railway Police Quarters road, Arsenal Road in Fort and also approach road from Ashoka Circle to RK Mission ashrama.
Good move by Corporation. This means that the road in Cantonment Area are worst.This also means that Cantonment is bankrupt sorry to stay that.
I don’t understand why they don’t make good roads once for all and maintain them. Feel Sorry for every day commuters who live in that area and travel on those roads. More over i had read it here that the Cantonment board had surplus funds with it.
