Khanapur road to be 6 laned tenders floated

The Khanpur road which has been renamed or suggested to be renamed as Shri Atal Bihari Vajapayee Marg i.e. from End of Railway Over bridge near Maratha Mandir to Third Gate will be SIX laned.

Two separate tenders have been floated by the Karnataka Public Works, Ports & Inland Water Transport Department.

The current tenders are as follows :

1. Improvements to Road from km 1.20 to 1.50 of Shri Atal Bihari Vajapayee Marg in Belgaum Taluka- Estimated cost Rs.41626613.26.

2. Improvements to Road from km 1.50 to 1.80 of Shri Atal Bihari Vajapayee Marg in Belgaum Taluka – Estimated cost Rs.39732279.23.

Both the tenders were floated on 02/10/2012 and the last date for submission is 22/10/2012 and work needs to be completed in 9 months from the date of issue of works order.

The said development will be of only 600 mtrs from 1.2 km to 1.8 km as the tender suggests that is from Maratha Mandir upto Mahaveer Bhavan Cross.

The new road would consist 3 tracks, a parking lane and a footpath with a central median. There would be lighting at the central median and also footpath.

The tender is an estimate for 6-lane Carriageway including Parking lane, Construction of Central Median, Footpath & Storm Water Drain, Shifting of water supply lines and Shifting of HT/LT lines including HESCOM deposit.

The estimated cost for the 600 mtrs stretch would be Rs.81358892.49.

  1. fund of 9 crore 25 lacs was sanction for 1.20km to 3.40 km length which 2200 mtrs as per work indent no 6800 and 6802 of PWP & IDT dept belgaum how come they are using same funds for only 600mtrs road development this department started loot of public money who will question them
