Take this as some good news, the Railway department has awarded the over bridge construction contract to Balaji builders of Bangalore. In phase one Dharwad Road (old PB road) over bridge would be built.
The over bridge at Old PB road would be approx 620 mtrs long and would be built on Pillars so that the space created below can be used for parking and also it would facilitate the shop owners on the side. Once work commences here all traffic would be diverted to Mahadwar road. The land acquisition for the same has to be done by the Corporation and the DC has ordered that the same should be done immediately.
The over bridges are the need of the day as there is heavy traffic jam at all the rail crossings across the city. Sources said even if work starts in a months time it would take about 12-15 months minimum for the work to get over.
FOUR over bridges over the railway crossings have been approved at the following places Old PB road, Kapileshwar Road, First Railway gate and Third Railway gate.
