Ankur school for special children by ACES

A group of Friends who knew each other from their school days used to spend a lot of time together. Going around for treks, picnics and so on and spending some quality time with each other which built a strong bond amongst themselves. Even after marriage the better half’s joined in the company and one day an idea sprouted out of giving something back to the society.

The idea hovered around what can be done and then eventually landed upon the idea of having a school for special children who needed more care and love.

Amities is the Prasad Nuganatti’s brain child, he used to travel across country for work where he met few colleagues who have children who need special care and attention and there were not many schools for them. Mr.Anup of Lokvishwas Pratishthan works for similar children and he said if you are interested he could help him start such a school in Belgaum.

It was not an easy task says Amities constructive education society (ACES) Chairman Sanjay, “it took us 8 months and hundreds of hours of brain storming to come with this idea and getting the same implemented.”

Nishant, vice chhairman of ACES told this blog, “The story behind the name amities is also interesting. We wanted to name our group and while searching a English to French dictionary we found ‘Amities’ as friendship and then decided to use the same name for our education society.”

Mr.Huded the district chief of Scouts n Guides helped them in a tremendous manner by giving his premises for the school.
Amities will work for the Mentally Challenged, Dumb-Deaf and Physically Handicapped and all those who need special love and care.

Ankur school for the mentally challenged is now housed at the Scouts n guides premises on Roy road near Vaccine depot ground.

The ACES further aim to start other schools for physically challenged, self help units for women, Yoga courses, Courses in Arts music etc. Ankur School currently has a professionally managed school with a loving and caring staff.
