International kite festival on Jan 15 and 16 in Belgaum

After the success of 1st International Kite festival last year where various teams across the country and abroad this year the Kite festival would be held on January 15 & 16, 2012 at the Savagaon Grounds next to Firing Range, Nanawadi Belgaum.

 

Timings: Night Flying 7.00pm to 9.00pm at 15th January 2012

9.00am to 1.30pm & 2.30pm to 5.30pm on 15 & 16th Januray, 2012

 

The festival will see a huge number and giant sized Kites, including Dragon Kites, Train Kites, Stunt Kites, Parafoils, Air-Inflated Kites, Eagles and Kathakali Kites. Giant Kites like Motorised and Fiberglass Kites, Traditional Paper Kites and Designer Kites, thereby creating a colourful canopy that promises an awesome spectacle for the viewers. All of these will be flown by expert Kite Makers and Flyers from Europe and Asia during the two-days International Kite festival. More than Eighteen national and Six international teams including those from the United Kingdom, Germany, Brazil and France have confirmed their participation at Belgaum. It is hoped that the festival will help to promote Belgaum as an International Tourist Destination.

  1. There is no hesitation to declare Belgaum as an enthusiastic city. Belgaum has become more lively and is becoming more lively day by day. A permanent location for International Kite flying festival and a place for Exhibition on the lines of Pragati Maidan of Delhi is very much required.

  2. Great! I feel it will give even greater boost to this event if some VIP inaugurates it. Someone like- the CM, a union minister or a noted nature/arts enthusiast.

  3. We need to advertise it, alot.. none will know its happening, It would be nice if the organisers spend some money and let people all over know thru newspapers repeatedly with pics… it will be an big event!
