The city of Belagavi is now growing, becoming a food lovers paradise. Not that the local cuisine is left behind but new and different cuisines are also getting their fan following.

The newest entrant is the ‘Marrakesh’- aromas of the middle east, the name ‘Marrakesh’ comes from the land of Morocco which rightly means ‘The Land of God’. Until a few decades ago Morocco itself was known as kingdom of Marrakesh. Marrakesh-belgaum
Marrakesh brings to you the most authentic shawarmas, falafels, pitas with a blend of hummus, tahini, our own rich garlic sauce, pickles and the meat from the vertical rotisserie.

You can savor the custom made shawarmas, with your own filling – mushroom, broccoli, potato, or paneer.

The Lebanese-Mediterranean preparations blend perfectly with an array of Indian dishes especially for the Indian palate. One can take pleasure in tasteful creations, from tantalizing tandoor delicacies to mouth-watering kebabs like makrana kebab, boti kebab, nizami kebab, chicken chops, tandoori tarkari etc.

Healthy variant of soups like gajar & dhaniya shorba and dal shorba are worth trying. The aromatic ‘Paaya Soup’ here has a distinct taste due to the use of varied spices.

Garlic hummus with olives and pita bread light appetisers include moutabel with zatar naan, crisp salads.

Must try – Tandoori ajwani paneer and barbequed vegetables, Dal Peshawari, Peshawari Chole, Makrana Kabab, Nalli Barrah Kebab, Lamg Shawarma, moutabel with zatar naan.

Ambiance – is simple and yet cosy with one open hall with a decent seating and one corner made up for the Indian Baithak. Also there is rustic open seating arrangement just for a change.
Service – When we had been here there was not much rush, and hence we were served in good time and nothing to complain. However we did see that there were good number of flies around due to the plants kept may be which needed to attended to. Also a few mosquitoes around will trouble you.

The place is a good outing place for a good meal along with family or only friends.
Average price – Meal for two – Rs.500-600
