Flights may resume by December 15


At the meeting of the delegation of the Belgaum Chamber of Commerce & Industries with civil aviation minister Praful Patel, Vijay Mallya over phone said that he will try his best to commence air service by December 15, 2010.

Praful Patel had called up Mr.Mallya and he had told about non availability of landing slots in Mumbai and Bangalore and to look into this, Mr.Patel ordered his secretary look into the matter personally and get the clearances done at priority.


When the delegation met Mr.Mallya in person he again assured them that he will commence the service as early as possible.

The Belgaum Chamber of Commerce & Industries President Jaideep Siddannaver, Secretry Mallinkarjun Jagajampi, Vice President Basvaraj Javali Vice President Panchaxari Chonnad & members , Shivanand Uppin & Subhash Katti alongwith Suresh Angadi MP Belgaum, Prabhakar Kore MP, Ramaesh Katti MP Chikkodi, Mahantesh Kavatgimath MLC were present.

The delegation also met Trade & Commerce Minister Anand Sharma & environment Minister Jairam Ramesh at their Parliament office.

The delegation will meet Heavy Industry Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh & Miss Mamata Banrjee Hon Railway Minister tomorrow.



  1. Thats a breather for all the Belgaumites arriving from overseas
    who can avoid forced transit for a day in Mumbai / Banglore.

  2. Hope to see that happen ASAP Civil Aviation minister has a good excuse 'no landing slots' at B'lore & Mumbai if thats true how was Air Deccan operating two years earlier
