The day of December 15, 2010 has passed by and many readers and fliers in the sky were expecting some good news to read that flight have resumed, but that is not the case.

The assurance given by the minister of civil aviation Mr.Praful Patel that he will ask Kingfisher to resume services by December 15 deadline has not been met.

Sources told this blog, that DGCA hasn’t still given the requisite clearances and landing spots in Mumbai and Bangalore and hence this delay in resuming air services.

People in the industry also fear the sudden increase in air fares all over the country is affecting the airlines non committal to non lucrative routes.

The last take off from Sambra was on 17th June 2009 by the KF flight.

In all what is in store for us nothing but still wait and watch the skies of Belgaum for those passing by planes as we still need to throw more pressure on the airlines to resume services from here.

if there is not enough passenger demand then tell the airlines to send smaller 10-20 seat regional airliners to the city as the airport is suitable to accomodate such small aircrafts. another option is to turn the airport to half military half civilian field . the airport will only flourish until belgaum emerges as aeducational, economical and top IT destination. and the runway measures only 6000ft in length and the apron is too small to accomodate 50 -180 seat airliners. to accomodate such airliners the runway length should be 7500ft and apron big enough to fit 5 such large airliners.

    Nonsense move by political administrators.
Grow up Mr. Aviation Minister. Last year you had made tall claims and promises. We as responsible citizens feel that its time for you to get grounded as an Aviaition Minister.I always feel that, this gentleman in more interested in adding more beauty to the existing "Gondia Airport" of his constituency and may even upgrade it to an International Airport. Dear Sir, please plan for welfare of our country as well.
