Way to go, PAL

Photo of author

Recently Belgaum witnessed a demonstration of a different type. People displaying placards that advocated animal rights, a person dressed as a chicken and students and supporters urging onlookers to save animals and care for their well being. The man behind this effort is Sudharm Mudalgi, a student of MBA at Bharatesh Global Business School, Belgaum.

In a brief tete-a-tete, Sudharm allows us a peek into his life and the cause for which he has dedicated himself.

sudharmWhere did you complete your schooling?

Sudharm Mudalgi ——-> My school is St. Mary’s high school, Camp, Belgaum.

Which College?

Sudharm Mudalgi ——-> I studied Jain philosophy at Pt. Todarmal Smarak Bhavan in Jaipur, Rajasthan. I got a BA Degree from Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan, Jaipur, Rajasthan.

How did you get interested in Jain Philosophy?

Sudharm Mudalgi ——-> At a very early age I had come to know that MONEY and MORALS are two different things…but both run on the same principal “THEY NEED TO BE EARNED”. And to be honest, being a jain was not the reason to study Jain philosophy but a desire to study something different from everything and everyone made me visualize the things to its true nature and that took me deep into it.

How did the association with People for Animal Liberation start?

Sudharm Mudalgi ——-> Our association with the PAL did not start any day because WE ARE PAL… we only initiated the cause. PAL started 3 years ago on 9th August 2009. What was started at its very fresh start for vegetarianism soon became a youth movement for animal rights. Feeling a very much needed topic for today’s generation the action was taken.”making a decision was only the beginning of things”.

What has been your work with PAL?

Sudharm Mudalgi ——-> I am just one of the fingers of that hand which made PAL… everything that PAL is today is because of the efforts, sacrifice and dedication of a team, and as regards me,every support is has been given all the time by all the ways to support the cause and bring up this NGO.

Where do you plan to take this (PAL work) from here?

Sudharm Mudalgi ——-> PAL has taken its birth for a revolution, for a cause, PAL is not only an NGO to say… unless its aims are not accepted by each human on this earth it will be finding its newer, more sharper and more flexible ways for a great change in this world.

What are your interests/hobbies?

Sudharm Mudalgi ——-> Playing Guitar, reading books, playing snooker, teaching, going to the gym, and doing interesting activities.

Any Message to the people?

Sudharm Mudalgi ——-> Secret is here in the present. If you pay attention to the present, you can improve upon it. And, if you improve on the present, what comes later will also be better.

Forget about the future, and live each day according to the teachings.
