Major General Ajay Kumar, General Officer Commanding, CIF (Delta) recently inaugurated the 100 Feet High Mast National Flag here at Kuleed Chowk. The flag constructed by the Indian Army was dedicated to the Awaam of Kishtwar.
The project is the initiative of 17 Rashtriya Rifles (MARATHA LI) to instill pride in our Tiranga amongst the Awaam. The installation of the High Mast was completed in a record time of 40 days and is one of its kind in the Jammu region.
The Martyrs Memorial constructed to honor the brave soldiers of Kishtwar who laid down their lives, while fighting terrorism was also inaugurated.
Martyr Captain Tushar Mahajan Memorial Trust and Major Akshay Girish Foundation played a pivotal role in the execution of the project. Public and Private companies, namely; NHIDCL, NHPC, Ratle Hydro Power Ltd, Patel Engineering, JayPee Constructions, AFCONs, Lokmanya Multipurpose Co-Op Society Ltd, Belagavi, Mangal Das Trust, Gogte Infra Belagavi, Hyloc Hydrotechnic Pvt Ltd Belagavi extended their generous support for the noble initiative.
Lt Col Anshuman Patil who hails from Belagavi has been overseeing this project right since its inception. He has played a pivotal role in the installation of the high flag mast at Kishtwar. In addition to this most of the fellow officers and troops working on the project also hail from this region
