38 Residential roads converted to Commercial

Photo of author

The city corporation and the BUDA in a meeting have finalized the change of land use of 38 roads in the city. After the change of land use it would be easy for the citizens to build commercial or Residential buildings on the roads as the requirement of change of land use will then not apply for the roads earmarked as commercial.

Once the land usage of the road is changed one can build both commercial or residential, but earlier if you had to build a commercial complex on a road marked as residential the procedure was very tedious. What this will also do is the value of the property will go up and each one will end up paying more house tax to the Corporation.
The new CDP is yet to be approved after some changes and yet the same has not been approved.
A few important roads marked for change from Residential to Commercial:

Chennamma circle to Krishnadevraya (Kolhapur) circle, Krishnadevraya (Kolhapur) Circle to Sangolli Rayanna (RTO) circle, Maratha Mandir to 3rd gate, RPD cross to GSS college one side, Civil Hospital to Bauxite road, Club road, Gogte circle to 3rd gate, Mandoli Road, Harimandir road, Gondhalli Galli, Mahadwar Road, Kapileshwar main road, Shani Mandir to Jinnah chowk, Saraf Galli Shahpur, Ganeshpur Galli, Nath Pai Circle to Kankanwadi College, Shukurwar Peth, Basveshwar Chowk to Nath Pai Chowk, Bazar Galli Khazbag, 3rd Railway gate to Peeranwadi, Kolhapur circle to Jinabakul Cross, Maratha Mandal Polytechnic to KPTCL Samudaya Bhavan, Shree Nagar Garden Road, Kanbargi Road, Mahantesh nagar double road, Old Dharwad road, SP office to Dharmanath Bhavan, Ramdev Hotel to Dharmanath Bhavan- ESI hospital, SPM road, Bauxite road, Sardars high school ground road, Fort lake road, Ramlingkhind Galli, Ganeshpur Road.

  1. It’s is just regularization of land usage…! Most of the mentioned roads (except city outskirts) have already commercial establishments.. Whatever, let’s welcome the move for which it will increase the revenue of CCB..!
