Even after 10 months, the hoteliers of Belagavi have not been paid their dues for the services rendered by them during the winter session held at SVS Belagavi in December 2021.
Vishweshwar Hegde Kageri said the winter session of the State legislature would be held at the Suvarna Vidhan Soudha Belagavi, tentatively in December 2022. In 2021, the 10-day session held at Belagavi ended on 24 December 2021.
Last year’s winter session bills are still not paid to hotels. Only 50 percent of the dues have been paid to a few only and they had told in public that all the bills would be settled in 30 days. The rates prevailing in 2018 had been approved for payment in 2021 and even that has not yet been paid.
For over 10 months now the bills have been unpaid to the tune of Rs. 2 crores as per sources.
The Deputy Commissioner is asked about the budget when the session is undertaken, the amount is also sanctioned but year after year the dues are not paid on time, which is surprising as already the said amount has been earmarked for hotels in the total budget.
After meeting the Deputy commissioner around 10-15 bills of the hotels have been paid, but still payments to many hotels are due.
