Udupi-Chikmagalur MLA C T Ravi demanded the government to arrest of Belagavi (North) MLA Firoz Sait in connection to recent communal riot at Khadak Galli of the city and sudden surfacing of tomb belong to Muslims in Khanjar Galli.
Mr. Ravi, who heads a three-member fact-finding committee appointed by the BJP to look into these incidents, alleged that all attacks prima facie appeared to be “planned” and executed by targeting only Hindus. He challenged Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to direct the police to arrest Feroz N. Sait, MLA, who he alleged, was behind the communal violence and installing a “fake grave” on a government land in Belagavi. Mr. Ravi also criticised Small Scale Industries and district in-charge Minister Satish L. Jarkiholi for not bothering to meet the victims of the communal assaults: “As they [Congress leaders] are not truly secular, they did not…if the victims were to be non-Hindus, he would have rushed.”
