Belgaum airport is being developed jointly with the Indian Navy

sambra1In reply to the supplementary question asked by MP Suresh Angadi today in the Loksabha, the Union Minister for Civil Aviation said, the Belgaum airport is being developed jointly with the Indian Navy. Total outlay is Rs. 293 crore, out of which, the share of AAI is 142 crore and the Indian Navy is paying Rs. 151 crore.

  1. Thats what I din’t hear or see on DD Loksabha :)the aviation minister said.. “we don’t dictate on commercial terms”. well where is the link or news proof ? where did you get the extra news from of a naval expansion?

    Answering Suresh Angadi (BJP), the minister said the Belgaum airport is being developed jointly by the Airport Authority of India (AAI) and Indian Navy. Of the total cost of Rs 293 crore, the AAI will provide Rs 142 crore and the rest will be borne by the Indian Navy.

    On the request of operating Air India flight from this airport, Ajit Singh said he would take up the issue with the airlines.
