To condemn the act of MLA Abhay Patil of abusing and attacking chamber president it was unanimously decided that on Monday 14th May, 2012 a BANDH would be observed in the city.

In a public meeting held at Maruti Temple at Maruti Galli where people from all walks, all parties attended and in voice said that one should not tolerate such kind of acts of a MLA of assaulting, abusing a president of Chamber which is again a apex body.

The meet was attended by BJP leaders from BJP, Congress, MES, Bhim Sena, Sri Ram Sena and also all those who had experienced the brat of the MLA including farmers.

A big march has been organized on the same day which will begin from Shivaji Garden Shahpur and will end at the DC office.

Everyone at the meeting expressed their experiences of the MLA and said that this is the time we all should come together and stand united and tell him that we have only elected you.

It may be recalled that a similar bandh was done under similar circumstances when the superintendent of police was transferred. Even then people had gathered in large numbers and supported the cause which included members from all walks and parties.

  2. Whether this bandh will be beneficial to Belgaumites or will it hurt the already worse market situation?
The Bandh should be Voluntary and no on should be forced to close down their shops, factories etc, only then shall we know the actual support for this bandh.

    • Dear Rahul,
      You heard wrong.
We in the industry are the last to close down the industry.
There have been umpteen bandhs in the last 28 years that I am running the industry and not on one instance we have shut down for a Bandh.
A Bandh outs us into un-recoverable production loss apart from the national revenue loss on account of Tax and Duties.
We will not shut down, unless the cause is too serious and in the interest of Belgaum

      • Dear Sanjeev
I agree with your views and appreciate it.
Bandh’s should not be enforced in any case.
        Bandh should be Voluntary.

  6. All need to stand united to make this BANDH complete and successful. It is certainly going to cause inconvenience but time to emphatically say a NO to this Goonda Raj.

Also for all to take a pledge to never get his guy elected again. We have had enough of him.

  7. If we think BAND will work then do it till you get answers for all problems in Belgaum and not promises,AND SHOULD NOT ALLOW ANY ONE WITH POLITICAL MOTTO IN BAND TODAY
    1) politicians give false promises & never fulfill them
    2) we should not entertain any one who comes only to promise
    3) should start with negative voting for bad elements
    4) PUNISH THE PEOPLE WHO DO NOT VOTE
    5) CHECK EVERY I-CARD AND FACE ON IT

  8. Never allow these Political Thieves to dominate on public. Abhay Patil & Umesh Katti feel as if they are bludy owner of Belgaum. All come to one decision and kick on their ass. So no bastard can dare to do such acts hence forth. BJP should plan their strategy now itself by throwing such people out who are arrogant and work to generate welfare for their family.
