Today the delegation of The Belgaum Chamber Of Commerce And Industries ,Belgaum met the DC Shri. Mounish Modgil IAS with regards to the starting up of a Pass Port Office in Belgaum. President of the Chamber Mr.Tendolkar said that today Belgaum is considered as the most potential city in India. We have got many export oriented industries, container corporation, a sugar lobby belt plus Belgaum is a educational hub having 6 Engineering collages and 3 medical colleges, 3 universities which takes Belgaum on a global map. He further said that many multinational companies visits Belgaum for a campus interviews. Belgaum is well connected with roads, railways and air to all the major cities of India. Inspite of all we don’t have a passport office which is a want of the day. Now a days Pass Port has become inevitable in trade ,industry and service sector. For all passport related matters all the citizens has to go to Hubli spending the whole day or two. He requested the DC to take up this issue with the higher level and to start a Pass Port Office.
DC Shri. Mounish Modagil accepted the fact that Belgaum is really on the global map. He said that at present Pass Port Office is in Hubli and all Belgaum passports has to again come to Belgaum for verification which consumes lot of time. He accepted the fact that Belgaum needs a Pass Port Office and he has assured the delegation that he will positively take up this matter to start a pass port office after the elections. The Delegation of the Belgaum Chamber has consented to offer their premises as a redressal cell for Passport office.
And as a second capital of Karnataka it deserves one!
Well we need a PSK (Passport Seva Kendra) in the second capital of Karnataka and may be some districts of North Karnataka attached to it. That would really help people here and in north Karnataka.
There should be a passport office in Belgaum. And it is very much required for Belgaum Citizens.Instead of wasting time in traveling to Hubli, it can be done quickly in our own city, and saves our precious time.
