The Belgaum Chamber of Commerce & Industries, met Shri Nitesh Patil IAS Deputy Commissioner Belagavi and brought to his notice some key Problems and suggestion as mentioned below
Issue regarding Rs.10 Coins Not accepting by the Public : Reserve Bank of India have released a Press Release i.e. Public can continue to accept Rs.10 coins as legal tender on 20th November 2016, but unfortunately in Belagavi District all Traders and Public are not using/exchanging Rs.10 Coins.
Now a days there is shortage of Rs.10 Currency Note in market and even banks do not have currency notes in stock but are ready to issue Rs.10 Coins but Most of the Traders and Public are not aware that this is a legal currency of our India.
The chamber requested to kindly issue an a Notification / Press Release to the Public to accept the Rs. 10 Coins which will be benefited to all the Trade sector/ Banks & Government
Also discussed about the shortage of change and non acceptance of Rs. 10/- coins in the market.
DC immediately called the City buss department and asked the bus services to accept the coins. He also assured us that he along with the Banks and concerned departments will issue a press note declaring that the Rs. 10/- coins are legal tender and request everyone to start using them.
